about

It's SO important to feel safe and comfortable with the therapy process.. here's more information to help with that.

you, the client

My clients are individuals and couples who are seeking a holistic perspective to their healing.

I tailor my approach to each person and system, because one size does NOT fit all when it comes to mental health.

My clients come from all walks of life and therefore all kinds of professions, family situations, experiences, and perspectives.

They love my compassionate but directive therapeutic style, and that I NEVER assign homework. My goal is to give you the experience of being seen, heard, felt, and thus, understood.  This is the alchemy of healing.

Ok, now what about my background and trainings?

Kate Gray, MMFT

Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2014, then spent 3 years working with families struggling with active addiction. This peaked my interest in Trauma in the context of Family Systems, and the relational perspective on healing.

Living in Nashville, Tennessee, I went on to pursue my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University, and graduated in December 2022. I am currently working towards licensure in the state of Tennessee (supervised by Jasmine Baptiste, LMFT, TN #1150) and anticipate receiving it in January of 2025. I have been trained in Family Systems, EMDR, Prepare/Enrich (premarital counseling), and Personality Disorders.

I have recently relocated to Western NC, but due to the flexibility of my license, I am able to see my TN clients via telehealth. When I'm not working, I'm enjoying time with my daughter and husband :) Life is good!
